Professor Derek Rosario is a consultant urological surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Professor at SHU within the STAMINA team. His clinical and academic work has focused on prostate and bladder cancer, prostate cancer screening, and patient‑centred evaluation of diagnostic and treatment pathways.

He plays a leading national role in major NIHR and charity‑funded programmes (e.g. NIHR STAMINA PGfAR CI) and is acting Clinical Advisor (Prostate) to the UK National Screening Committee. He also serves as President and medical advisor to the Urostomy Association.

​Within Sheffield’s academic urology environment, Professor Rosario has been closely involved in supervising academic clinical fellows and contributing to structured training in urology, integrating clinical research exposure into medical and early postgraduate curricula. In his consultant role, he participates in teaching clinical urology to undergraduate medical students on MBBS/medical degree programmes through bedside teaching, small‑group case‑based learning and exposure to uro‑oncology clinics and theatre lists in Sheffield teaching hospitals.
